North Weald this coming weekend

Hi Folks,

I’m sure this is probably ‘old news’ for many of you on this forum, but thought worth passing-on just in case anybody fancies spending a few hours in the sunshine (25 degrees we’re promised!) this weekend:

If anyone feels like supporting the ‘Save North Weald’ campaign, there is an open day this weekend – details below…

I am writing to let everyone know, and remind those that already do, that this coming SUNDAY, 14th September, is Battle of Britain day and in conjunction with the Squadrons FLY IN the museum have organized an “Open Day” in conjunction with the NORTH WEALD AIRFIELD USERS GROUP for anyone who wishes to come along and see what goes on at the airfield and more specifically to participate in the fly in.

The airfield is open to all and we are trying to encourage as many people as possible to come along. The day is also a “fly in” so those that do fly please make the effort to come in and support us. Landing is free (but we are hoping to get some donations to our Airfield Campaign!)

There will be a lot of press interest plus, we are hoping, some national TV coverage. We are using this event to promote the airfields profile and in particular our “Save the Airfield” campaign. There will be a spitfire fly by plus other warbirds on display – plus all the other interesting aircraft that we hope people will fly in with.

I hope you will be able to come along and look forward to seeing you there.

David Young
