North West doing a livery change in April!

North West Airlines is to “re-decorate” their aircraft, by introducing a new livery, to begin appearing on their fleet at the begining of April this year.

The first aircraft to appear in the new livery will be a 747-400 on April 3rd, followed by a 757-300 that is on order, to be delivered later this year (around End of may time). The next aircraft to recieve the new paint will be a DC-10 then the rest of the fleet starting with the DC-9’s.

The fuselage is said to be metallic silver and the tail is to be left red. It will also have large NWA letters on the side of the aircraft, done in “billboard style”.

A total of up to 77 aircraft are expected to painted in the new colours this year alone. It will take several years to complete the whole fleet.

The pictures below show three possible designs.

Whats wrong with the current one???? it is relatively nice and modern… but if they want to change it i would prefer the first one.. even though it is too silverish as the previous guy mentioned…. and too redish… they need to modify it a bit, perhaps change the colour of the belly to any other colour than silver

Regarding the current Air France c/s.. it is nice.. whats wrong with it? it is simple.. white and white…. it just the airplanes needs washing and painting..

yeah, so, it needs a visit to the paintshop… it won’t matter what they paint on it, though…

Hand you have to agree that the AF livery has gone a bit down hill… look at this example, you see a fair few of the AF fleet in this state nowadays.

I like both the first and second possibilities, both great looks.

I wonder who will be the next big airline to surprise us with a livery change!

Hand… North west dont operate the A330 yet. They are still on order and are to be delivered within the next few months.

NorthWest did at first decide to bring out the new livery on the first A330 that they recieved, but it seems that they were unable to wait.

According to reports, NWA have decided to go with something along the lines of the first design. The silver fuselage with the red tail, that still bears the compass.

We will just have to wait and see what is rolled out on the 3rd.

Number 1 is excellent… I really like it.
Number 2 looks like something that came of the KLM design board, it reminds me of one of their proposed designs.

First one is also my favourite.

But I also agree that their metallic 747 freighter livery is terrific.
May well be my favourite of all airlines actually but what would they write in the black part instead of cargo??? Any suggestions.

In CDG we did the handling for Northwest not very interesting professionnally as they decided nearly everything from the USA.
One of my colleagues had to make the dc10 come back to its parking once as he had put an AVI in bulk.

NW is operating A330 , I wonder why they don’t operate them on North Atlantic routes. Any idea?

I really like the first one. Very clean, smooth and modern.

When are they getting rid of those DC-10s?

Kind of remind me of the old Northwest Orient scheme.

I like the 1st one, a lot. That would be a wise choice. Plus, the bare metal fuselage, saves money in the long run, in these fincially troubled times.
