Northolt viewers enclosure

One of my earliest aviation memories is cycling to Northolt with a friend who showed me the viewers enclosure off West End Rd, pretty much where the new southern entrance is. As we entered a Belgian AF Pembroke was turning in the pan for take-off, sad but that memory has always stuck with me. That day started a bit of a habit and I ended up cycling there most days after school. That was the late 70’s.

Whenever I drive past there now I think of the good old days. I was wondering if anyone knows of any pictures of the enclosure or a bit about its history.

There was a small history of RAF Northolt published some years ago. It was a limited run and not a M.O.D publication.

All I can suggest for the moment is that you pop this same request up on ‘Ruislip Online’ message board to ask for the title as well as any pics the residents might have.

The site I saw it originally I can no longer find. Best I can find is: http://www.fly.to/Northolt
