Northwestfest Gatwick 27-10-2008

Hi all,

Headed down to Gatwick on monday for the departure of the NFL Northwest charters with fellow photographer Dan380 and were not dissapointed. Not up to my usual standard as I’m using a new monitor for editing and images that look fine are actually much darker, and softer on any other monitor.

Now for the first beast! My first expirience of a 742 and it didn’t dissapoint. N624US carrying the San Diego Chargers who lost the football game the previous night.

Yes, I know it’s black and white!

A large rain cloud about the size of england began to threaten.

It was down to the wire with the huge cloud clearing the sun only minutes before the second beast’s departure. N623US carrying the New Orleans Saints who were victorious against the Chargers with a score of 37-32.

Headed to the landing lights where shots down the runway can be obtained, never been in a position like this before!

The histogram is and always will be the digital photographer’s best friend, Huw!

All in all an excellent set. I really do miss that MyTravel scheme!

Wow! Looks like that VS 744 certainly made a late rotation…must have been quite heavy, suppose it was going to MCO!

Just out of interest, seeing as you saw both a 744 and a 742 take off, is there any difference in the amount of noise that either of them makes?

Great stuff Huw, thanks for sharing.:)

Thanks for the reply! Yes the 742 is louder, much prefer it:D

Cheers, Huw
