Norwich City FC and a Blimp !

Once again as Norwich City Football Club are playing in the premiership this season, we can enjoy some aviation activity linked to this ! Tonight they are playing Sunderland, the team arrived in a Scot Airways Dornier 328 just before lunchtime, no photo as I was working (fills the time between photography !) But we have been blessed with the arrival, last evening, of the Goodyear blimp, to film parts of the match at Carrow Road ! So a few of my photos from this evening as the blimp left NWI for an exploratory look at the stadium and returned before dark ……

Firstly leaving the mooring mast, note the crew member at the top of the mast.

Push back from the mast …. he’s still there …

Then a rotary lands in front …. this is for you JB !!

And a very rapid climb to height …

A look at the gondola upon the return to base …

Almost back to the mast, between other residents …

Might be close on both counts, red flexible to control pressure in the bag and air conditioning to monitor the TV equipment? 😉

The”Eh”Team. Thanks for that John, I thought you might like the ‘copter shot !

EGTC. Thank you my friend ! The blimp is not hanging around here ? it left at 11:00hrs today, bound for, I am told, Manchester, to catch the next Norwich City game maybe ??

Newforest. Thank you also …. My theory is … the red things are orange corrugated flexible ducting taking ‘forced’ air from each prop tip into the gondola for cooling ????? And the unit attached below the rear ‘could’ be a simple air conditioning unit ???? would be so nice to hear from somebody who actualy knows ??? good questions though 😉 a very over pixilated crop from a photo below ….. just for you !!

Keith 🙂

Great photos Keith, sorry to hear that word work. Thought you had happily put that behind you! The camera on the front is pretty obvious, anybody know what the red attachment at the rear and the unit under the engine are for?

Wonderful. How long is it at Norwich for? I assume it will be doing passenger flights just as it did on the rest of the UK and European tour.
Too bad they had such a sad loss of the Spirit of safety 1 a few months ago.

Lovely catch and the copter mix is a stunning shot. What a change it is to see something different fill the viewfinder. All the shots below the copter one especially the last one certainly highlight the shape and nature of this machine.Well seen and caught….:)
