Not exactly what I would call a spectacular warbird but nevertheless interesting to see that someone in my neighbourhood is apparently putting the remains of one back together again in a field. Is it a Noratlas?

You are absolutely correct, I live in Twisteden, Germany.:) Twisteden is only a couple of miles from what used to be RAF Laarbruch.

Peter
Blimey, Twistenden – I used to drive through there all the time when based @ Laarbruch! It was a short-cut to get to the N271 (I think that’s right anyway)!
Are ‘Alfredos’ still selling pizzas in Weeze? Used to love the hot ‘Diablo’!!
Ahhhh… memories!

Looks like they’re going to tow her onto the fairground now, where she will stay. Is this the Fiat that lost part of a propeller at Fairford several years ago?

First I thought I read: Not a Noratlas but a Fart!:D
Must be the wind of change:) Thanks for amending the title Pete.

Is the title better now?

Would be helpful to modify the thread title as this has nowt to do with any Noratlas!
Tim, I think the thread title is set in stone and not a lot can be done about it other than the moderators deleting it and starting again!

Obviously someone at Irrland has a soft spot for old aircraft..
Little does he know that not even a mile down the road someone is building an accurate replica of the Heinkel 51 biplane in his workshop.
Is it a fun-park or something like that?
Yes, they also have an Antonov Ar2, a PZL 101 (the kids can even play in this one), also a 50s FIAT jet-fighter and a russian helicopter.

Further searches show it has recently moved to Germany, to a place called Irrland at Twisteden.

Positively identified by two windows, but where is your neighbourhood?
By: Fred41 - 11th October 2008 at 08:20
No, a FIAT G-222
