NOT Flashing at Duxford – 10Dec11

Having sort of got to grips with the ins and outs of the on-camera flash, I was going to give my LED panel a bit of a work out but instead it stayed in my camera bag. I got a bit preoccupied with another feature of the Sony Alpha cameras as I was experimenting with the Multi Frame Noise Reduction feature which works in conjunction with the ISO. Basically it’s the same as the Hand Held Twilight mode in taking six frames of the same image and applying noise reduction to them to make one image with reduced noise. Here it’s a manual feature unlike the Twilight Mode in which the camera decides on the settings. ISO 3200 looks about the maximum for noise reduction as ISO 6400 was beginning to show some graining (noise) or that could just be down to me not using the right settings. The Instruction Manual advises having the camera mounted on a tripod for this feature but I was using it hand held and even waving it about on the end of a monopod.

Although some of the images look like repeats in this screen shot, they are actually at the different settings I was trying out.

I think the best thing Sony can do is to take you on as a consultant and as a previous poster suggested fit, a ‘Pen Pusher buton.’ πŸ™‚
Great photos, again.

I do wish you’d pack it in Brian πŸ˜€ Every time you post these fantastic sets of images, I find myself looking around to see what deals I can find on your camera kit. I have some extra funds coming my way in the New Year so may have to take the plunge and see what the sales bring…

Anyway, thanks for sharing these images with us and keep up the good work πŸ™‚

Cheers
