Two light aircraft have crashed in what is though to be a mid-air collision in south Wales.

This is a hugely sad day at St Athan, and there is a feeling here of shock, despair, and feeling and loss for all involved.
Please avoid conjecture at these early stages, if possible.
Is it possible that this thread can be moved to military (it’s rightful place) and possible renamed.

4 have been confirmed dead, 2 15 year old female air cadets who were cousins and 2 RAF Pilots with as i understand, 2000+ hours flying
A very sad time for the ATC, my thoughts are with the families, the squadron and to the relatives of the 2 pilots aswell
i had cadets flying from leeming on monday so this was slightly worrying as to what actually went wrong..and why they were that close together
Blue Skies to all 4

Does anybody else get as irritated as I do about eye-witness accounts in so many reports like this? We don’t need to know that they were hanging their washing out or who they’d just been on the phone to. Maybe they want to explain to the reporter why they could see what they could, but for the BBC to pass all those details on to us just trivializes the event.
It’s a tragedy – people’s lives have been destroyed and we don’t want to be told what totally unconnected individuals were doing at the time.
Let’s not worry about how shocked the onlookers were but give a thought to the families of those who have died or been injured.:(
