Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me if there are any websites where I can get backdated NOTAMS reports for Scottish airports going back the past couple of years?
Cheers

UKGA notams are prefixed “Not for operational use”, which is why I only use them for “general interest”.

Doesn’t it say somewhere about getting NOTAM/AIS info from an approved source?

I use UKGA.com to select my favourite airfields and then they email the notams for those places to me.
This is OK for general interest rather than flight planning as there is a delay in getting it to you.
It’s a lovely lazy way of getting information!

I use Notampro and find it excellent, with one big BUT….
If there are multiple NOTAMs for a single location, it only highlights the first one. The others are there in the text, but randomly scattered in the order the CAA (bless ’em) process them.
For example, the NOTAM for Blenheim air show earlier this year, highlighted the freefall drop at 16.15, but didn’t highlight the full NOTAM for the afternoon-long airshow, the additional NOTAM for the Red Arrows, or the fact that Oxford Airport was effectively closed from 13.30 !
I have e-mailed a comment to NOTAMPRO on this, but haven’t heard anything back, so I guess its still the same.

Yes, ‘Pro before the AIS site redesign though. More or less achieve the same objectives though ‘Plot is cheaper.
As in ‘free’

Pass, I’ll have to have a look. NotamPro seems to be very simple to use as you scroll over the map and click on the highlighted areas and it gives you the info. Of course this assumes you know where you are going. I tend to highlight those notams I need, copy them to word and then print the page.
Sounds about the same.
Anybody used both?

I can’t get on with AIS which is why I use NotamPro, much easier…
Never used it. How does it compare to Notamplot?

Thanks Rob.
Should have realised. When the Harpin Group helicopter lands just up the road he is still under BHX control. Just have to listen out and hope I’ve picked the right spot.

Had a quick look – nothing noted.
Thinking about it the sites are almost certainly within the Birmingham zone. The traffic will therefore be under positive control, as would anything likely to conflict with it, so no need for a NOTAM
Air band radio?

Helicopter flights in and out of Walsall please Moggy. There is expected to be one on Wednesday and another on Friday. Possibly using parks and/or school playing fields for landings.

Thanks Darren.
Tried that and the pages will not load. Don’t know whether it’s the site or something in my PC stopping it.
Never Mind. Will keep my ears open for the clatter of helicopters both mornings and hope for the best.

I once contacted AIS asking for a notam that was a couple of days old as it was a momento of a display for a friend’s wedding. They were extremely helpful.
I guess if you have got a good reason and you are not going to take the micky, it’s worth a try.
Pray, do tell why you need them.

Doubtful as NOTAMS are worthless when time expired….AIS in London will probably have a database of their old issued notams for a certain period in case of infringements etc.
