Or so report claims…
Bangalore, Nov 26 (UNI) Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the country’s premier aerospace organisation, has signed a contract with Israel Aircraft Industries for supply of a civil variant ‘Dhruv’ helicopter to Israel for transportation purposes.
The indigenously-designed and manufactured Dhruv helicopter would be shipped to Israel shortly as per the contract inked yesterday, according to a HAL release here today.
Israel is the second overseas customer for Dhruv, after Nepal which purchased two such aircraft last year. HAL had manufactured 35 of these choppers hitherto, primarily for defence customers.
Dhruv’s capabilities were demonstrated at the Paris Air Show-03 and Singapore Air Show in February last, which had drawn keen interest among various international civil and military operators.
