The much maligned DC10 always pushes my buttons

My favourite looking airliner is either the A330 with it’s condor like wing span or the L10-11 tristar for it’s unique shape.

It has to be Airbus, cant decide which so someone pick for me, do not care what model:D

The best looking airliner now would be the IL 62M!:)

And I feel the runner-up should be the De Havilland (or Hawker Siddeley?)
Trident lll
A beautiful aircraft but …….. Why did they offset the nose gear? (That must have caused awful difficulties when trying to manoeveur into gate areas in all but UK airports.)

I heard that the VC10 was an extremely quiet plane (ON THE INSIDE, It was extremely noisy form the outside), and that passengers liked it very much.
FOKKER 100/70
-Cool design
-Very nice cockpit
-Dutch
-Efficient
-Nice from the inside
-Quiet

Yes, I have to agree:
The Vickers VC 10
I sat in the right hand seat of an EAA (East Africa Airlines) one when it was taxied under it’s own power for a few hundred yards in the 1960’s.
Even in that drab military garb it looks great.

Have to agree with the VC10, amazing to think they are still flying, and they are all older than me!
As for commercial airliners I like the A340-600, for bizjets I love the BD700 Global Express.
The ugliest has to be the A318, that tail is just too big!

Although no longer used for hauling SLF, I think this is just about the most graceful looking passenger jet ever to fly!:)

Has to be either MD11 ,A330 or B777.
By: Comet - 13th February 2004 at 13:03
I forgot all about the Comet – fantastic looking aircraft. Then there is the VC10 – that was supremely elegant, but I didn’t mention them because I thought you were meaning airliners currently in service.

That’s a nice angle on that South African 744!
In terms of looks alone I’d probably go for the A345 or the 744. I look forward to the arrival of the A380 but I don’t think it’ll be the prettiest bird around. On the outside anyway, I think the beauty of the A380 will be on the inside. The shape of the 747 will always be special though.
Of all the twins I’d go for the A330. The 777 could be there but I like the winglets on the Airbus.
And yes, the Comet was a very sleek aircraft. So was the 707!

My first post and I have to tell you the only real looker for me was the Comet 1.
Lovely 🙂

Hi, Steve.
It was this one. South African Airways 744.

For me Concorde will always be queen of the skies.
The 747 King. Even when the A380 is out, the 747 will still be king for me. It was the first. The 747 changed the face of long haul travel. For that, she’ll always have a place in history.
But, for currently flying aircraft…. the 757 wins hands down for me. Sleek, elegant, fast….. a ferrari of the skies.
Edit: Oh would you look at that. fast approaching 1000 posts 🙂

My favourites now that Concorde is no longer flying as the same as my favourites when it was!
The Boeing 747-400 is a fantastic, phenomenal aircraft, love the take off noise of those four engines!
The Airbus A330 is great to film on video when it is taxying towards you and the engines just fill up the width of the screen! I like the A340 but I’ve never managed to film it from that angle.
The Lockheed TriStar – an all round beauty! The most handsome and elegant of the wide bodies I think, and it has such a beautifully shaped nose.
The Fokker 50 – great fun to fly on, especially that final nose dive approach into London City.
The Boeing 727 – rare these days, but still a looker!
The Airbus A320 – a wonderful aircraft to fly on.
