you know what would be really cool? Standing near (not to close mind you) to an old DC-3 starting up, ahhhh for the good old days!

You mean like this one?

What all this about Jet Provosts, has nobody ever stood next to an F-16 spooling up to taxi out…

I remember seeing one land at NCL almost 2 months ago, very loud. Saw it take off as well and I could hear it for ages.

Jet Provosts can be nasty! I flew into the North Welad fly-in last year from Cambridge with a friend. We got out of our plane, just as a Jet Provost came taxiing past on the taxiway we were standing on. Even trying to block my ears, it was loud enough to leave them ringing for the next few days.

Lovely bird that was, I’m guessing it would be very noisy because of the sound. My nanna is actually deaf after sitting at Newcastle Aero Club and listening to a Jet Provost taxiing in front of her!

Of course it may be landing and had it’s wheels photoshopped out ? 😉

I don’t think so. read the photographers comments.

Amazing…..must have been bloody loud! Doubt they are hush-kitted as well as they’d have to be in Europe.

BTW, Pic of the Month has been around for some time. I beleive KabirT started it.

regardless, I feel this pic is much more dramatic!
