Hackers turn Czech beauty spot into nuclear blast site

PRAGUE — Czech television viewers witnessed a mountain beauty spot transformed into the site of a nuclear explosion Sunday when hackers pirated a program aired by public broadcaster CT2, Czech media said.
Hackers broke into the early-morning Panorama program – which regularly displays webcam scenes of Czech beauty spots – and inserted images of a mushroom cloud following a nuclear explosion.
“The images were very unsuitable and could have frightened a lot of people,” Czech Television spokesman Martin Krafl told novinky.cz, a Czech Internet news server.
Hackers attacked equipment owned by a subcontractor and not the broadcaster’s main Prague headquarters, Krafl said, adding that lawyers had been instructed to take steps against those responsible.
