NW has some A320s in storage?!?!

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/697959/L/

Look as there are three here. And OMG, the have put some DC-9s in here too….what has the world come too.. :diablo:

Just thought it was a little odd to see some of their new Airbus planes here. I know that with flight cut backs et al, but

Is the DC9 stage 3 noise compliant?

Yes NWAs -9 and retro fitted with the kits…MOST major airports require the stage 3

Thanks mate. Do you know how many DC9’s NWA operate all together?

Does it mean that the US airports don’t impose stage 3 compliant jets?

Have no idea

Not sure.

I think there is a hushkit available though which would seem to indicate that the dc-9s are currently not stage 3 compliant.

Sounds like a smart strategy to me.

I heard that NW got MORE DC9’s

indeed. Once the Bank balance was a little steadier NW brought back most if not all their DC-9s into service. I think they snapped up large ammounts from elsewhere too. This has the effect that the DC-9s are wholey owned. No leases or such. This mean any profit made is 100% NW’s
