Gorgeous
Beautiful… the custom black finish on the Air New Zealand Boeing looks truly amazing.

But it isn’t ‘All Black!’
Nice, though.

Hi All,
I was parked next to its little brother at Queenstown NZ last week.
Here’s a low res snap of the ‘All Black’ A320.
Cheers

I wonder if a black aircraft would show every little scratch like a black car does?
Seriously, if ANZ were to adopt black as their colour scheme, their aircraft would certainly look distinctive. That said, the teal blue colour they use now does have historical significance.

looks sharp. Very distinctive. Hope they adopt it as their mainline livery

It is stunning but with all that black paint it’ll be a nightmare to control the cabin temperature on the ground in hot countries.
The paint scheme won’t be the problem. The paint doesn’t actually heat up the aircraft that much more. The biggest heat contributor is from inside the aircraft, with the IFE.
Oh, and it does look great close up 😉

Did you notice the Beech 1900 as well? Air NZ has been announced Air Transport World’s Airline of the Year, the second time in three years.

Hate to rain on your parade, but it doesn’t look ‘right’. Reminds me of that insurance advert of the light plane that got shredded in a hurricane or similar.
