WOW

You are not Wrong Bert 🙂 ,

The pics look amazing 😮 ,

I had to almost give it away in the end :p ,

Could not think of many more clues,

If it didn’t go after that, Everybody would be very slow on the uptake  ,

Pitty about the crash, So is that it, NO more Flyers 🙁 ,

Lets hope with everything else happening on the warbird scene 🙂 ,

Someone may change this 🙂 ,

Does any one know of any being currently worked on  ,

Be such a shame not to have any flying 🙁 ,

Cheers everyone, Tally Ho! 😉 Phil

(p.s. a harvard just went over my flat, Know that noise anywhere :p )

🙂 So i guessed right, but the hints helped alot..

IS’NT THAT RENDERING VIRTUAL STUFF AMAZING???

thought it was modelling at first..
In FineScale Modeler of september there is a brilliant article of a guy named Dan Jayne doiing te same in models 1:32. He cuts one side to shreds to show a cutaway view, beautiful.
He showed a corsair, spit, Me 106, a 262 and a 163. Must hav a look

Well, looks ok to mee, seems to have a scoop under the engine as well (partly hidden by vertical blade), as the Dewoitine has.. and a strut in the ventral radiator

or a Arsenal 30-36 series?

Well done Bert, you got it! It’s tricky, becasue the prodcution D520 has three distinct exhaust pipes from each side of the cowling, while the one in the pic seems to have four, or more. Is the one in the pic a prototype with a different engine?

I think there was one flying in France

Your last pic is that AC, I do not know if it is still active.

Les amis de Jean Salis still list one has being active.

How about a very nice virtual one, scroll all pages of the tread, lots of work there.

At last

Well done Bert 😀 ,

Yes its a D-520,

I always liked the look of it,

Performance was pretty good for its day,

Would have been faster If the Merlin worked out,

Best looking french job of its fighters 🙂 ,

I have a pic in a book somewhere of one in colour with its engine running,

Looked like after the war, Are there any flyers around,

Maybe in France? ,

I was off to bed this morning and the way they were being guessed,

I thought all would be finished before I hopped in,

Didn’t think the 520 would be last to go,

Gave enough clues in the end :p ,

As a Kid I thought it was a Frog Spit with a Hurra Radiator 😮 ,

Cheers Everyone, Tally Ho! 😎 Phil

Looks like a D520, of which 250 were captured by the Luftwaffe and distributed among axis forces such as Italy, Romania and Bulgaria and luftwaffe training squads. Only the radial on the right wing seems uncommon

no one guessed since post 17?

Could be, but the exhaust manifold doesn’t look right though.

NO 🙂 ,

Still trying Jimw 😉 ,

O.k. Even the Germans flew it,

To some extent  ,

And liked it Too I beilive,

Cannot give anymore clues,

I think there’s a few static around, Not sure about a flyer now days  ,

Now that’s it  ,

Cheers, Tally Ho! Phil 😉

So Gents what is it ?

Well  ,

It was a rush pick as I needed sleep badly 😮 ,

The old M.S. tends to wipe out the mind and body out pretty quick if I burn the candle at both ends 🙁 ,

And hours fly by way too fast while sitting here enjoying what the forums have to offer 😀 ,

One big clue on the last aircraft is its NOT a Brit type,

Was talk of it being fitted with a Merlin,

But proved to be a bit too heavy for the airframe I beilive  ,

I’m sure it will ring some bells out there now  ,

Cheers, Tally Ho! Phil 😉

(p.s.the next lucky 7 will be a lot harder for some and spread over 100 years of flight :p )

Well done Jimw, All correct, Last ones a trick pic you were very close on but, So name it, Last pic no, and try the cockpit again, SO close :p

I must say STORMBIRD262, this has been one of your easier selections. But the last one? I would say it is a Hawker something. I can’t think of any other ventral radiator types that didn’t have other easily recognisable features head on.
