How could they release this on St.Patrick’s Day…it’s terrible! Low cost gone mad! Thank goodness it is only going on two aircraft to promote its website.

And you felt the Aer Lingus special promotional scheme was bad….

Have bmi changed the name of the Alliance to STAR AIUANCE or something? 😉
By: EGNM - 27th March 2003 at 18:16

Here it is…

its now up to 4 a/c to be painted in these c/s
By: Cyprioteagle - 26th March 2003 at 01:24
it would be nicer or consolating if instead of that red DOT that reminds me of “TARGET ME” thing, to replace it with the Shamrock but within a circle…. and also change the c/s to green like I saw in one of the pics
Dont know if this is clever idea, i would appreciate comments

I highly doubt Aer Lingus would attain this livery across the whole fleet, it doesn’t seem natural or prestigious enough for a flag carrier. If they did then it is a sad case of an identity crisis like BA had, although at least BA did it with a little bit of sophistication.

I have just been browsing through the Justplanes.com news section, and it reports that Aer Lingus, maybe changing the entire fleet over to these colours!!!!! All I can say to this is…. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! 🙁
By: MSR777 - 20th March 2003 at 17:15
Well, what can u say?!! All the bleating in the world won’t stop these designers with brains turning to mush pelting us with more daft liveries……Vote with your feet or butts!…Don’t fly em!

Personally I do prefer the Shamrock logo, it was one of my favourites.

I hate to admit this, but the Blue design has begun to grow on me. 😮
By: EGNM - 19th March 2003 at 22:07
agreed – its a disgrace!

The .com logo will go on two 734s and two 735s and will compliment the airlines popular on line booking system. Nevertheless, I find it quite saddening that Aer Lingus should remove its symbol by which it is recognised worldwide and replace it with a vicious red blob. I know it is their online symbol, however, I just find the whole livery looks very temporary and a quick job.

nows the time to cry…

Yeah I to like the New JAL scheme, in fact as I recall I was one of the only forum members taht liked it. Im not keen is all on this new aer lingus livery.
As EGNM says, it doesn’t seem to show representation of its country like the normal Aer lingus c/s does. Im am not overly keen on the billboard type c/s anyhow, never have been.
By: EGNM - 18th March 2003 at 23:22
personally i dont mind the JAL scheme, but thi Lingus one just doesn’t seem to represent a warm national carrier from a great country 🙁 – it just seems (as the intentio apparently is) more easyjet than BA!
By: Bhoy - 18th March 2003 at 23:08
What’s the big deal about red dots?
A lot of you had trouble with the new JAL scheme, now you have a problem with EI putting their web address on the fuselage?
Come now, I find it more aesthetically pleasing than some charter schemes…

EGNM sorry to say it was a Aer Lingus B7370-500 parked next to us in full lingus colours but it did have have that red . com under the front right door.Sorry i hate it too.
