Howdy folks…. Ok I too was at Manchester today (Tuesday). Anyway, I have some shots that were taken of aircraft flying OVER Manchester. This can be a sort of quiz type guess the identity type thing here. All you have to do is tell us the type / airline / destination / departure of these……. And no I dont know the answers so you can all free for all into what they are……

at first i thought pic 4 might be an A330 for northwest, but after close inspection, i know go with the general consensus that its a martinair 763

Nice shots Graham – Im a fan of the overflight shots – i find them very interesting. 🙂 I love seeing things fly over, that your not likely to see on the ground in this country.
As for the answers to you teaser, id have to agree with the above:
1. Kalitta 747-200F
2. US Airways A330-300

4. Martinair 767-300 (i saw this myself the other day fly over where i live… i to got a pic. :))

Nope, the plane pictured has the stabilizer on top of the tail. The C160 has the stabilizer on the rear fuselage just under the tail.

Twin prop, high wing: would have to be an ATR 42 or a D328. Add to that the straight wing edges and that makes it an ATR-42, since the D328 wings end like the 773ER with raked wingtips.

Number 5 is a Boeing E-3 Sentry, most probably USAF if it’s heading north west?

5) definately 707, a radar dish can just be seen over the left wing just behing engine 2. Either NATO or RAF.
