Ok who's bored?

This board is dying so I am going to try and inject some life back into it, yeah I said try.

So how about a game of Guess the Ship 😀

There are five vessels here all are worthy of striking up a chat afterwards so lets get to it.

Ok, had no luck with group/wide angle pictures, so detail it is instead.

I am looking for the classes and/or names of 3 vessels (one of which is in 2 pictures) and a submarine.

I see:

2 Karel Doorman M-class frigates
1 De Zeven Provincien LCF-class AAW frigate
LPD Johann de Witt

1 Dutch Tripartite MHC
1 Belgian Tripartite MHC (another Dutch one behind it by the looks of it)

1 Norwegian Oksoy-class (SES) MHC, maybe with the stern of the Spanish MCM support ship Diana (Descubierta-class) in front of it.

And probably another 2 ships lost in the clutter of masts at the bow of the Karel Doorman.

Excellent, you’re it next.

Ok, that makes:

Delhi class (P15)
2x Godavari class (P16), of which one upgraded with Elta radars and Barak (INS Ganga)
1x Brahmaputra class (P16A)
4 x Kilo class submarines

Next!

There is 1x TYPE 16A Brahmaputra Class Frigate, because the quadruple KT-184 launchers, angled at 30º are clearly visible on the first ship.

The others are 2x TYPE 16 Godavafri Class Frigate.

Frosty: got all hulls but missed some detail differences between them. Hint: check radar fits.

Apologies for the small pic. However, you could save pic, open locally and enlarge with MS Office Picture Manager.

This one is a bit harder due to the lack of detail but for starters I think I see 3 Indian Godavari class frigate the F20, F21, F22 a Delhi class destroyer and finaly 4 Kilo class subs.

The carrier is Principe de Austrias you can tell by the bulges underneath the anchors. The F480 frigate is the Portuguese comandante Joao Belo. The middle frigate is the F-712 Courbet. The last frigate is F-102 Almirante Juan de Borbon.

Twas indeed the Iowa. I have two shots taken from fwd too. She’s idle in the water at the time of firing, but one can see (From a small wake in the water) that firing all the guns at once has pushed the ship back (To Port) about 6 or 10 feet. That’s the main reason big guns can’t fire “In-line” isn’t it? The shock wave would rattle the glasses in the wardroom.

Probably scare the living daylights out of the First Lieutenant as well:D

I liked that last one. Here’s another (easy) just to keep this thread going. What ships?

Definitely DDG 91 and Flight IIA, though not sure about location of torpedo tubes on all of the batch, Pinkney and subsequent seem to have them on hangar (http://www.news.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=31669) and first Flt IIA USS Oscar Austin through to DDG 90 have them midships.

All right, good work.
ANZAC was HMNZS Te Mana, Armidale was HMAS Bathurst, Arleigh Burke was USS Pinkney (DDG 91 and thus Flight IIA though).
All assembled far away from home at Changi naval base in May 2007 for local defence show.

Flight IIA, Really? What threw me off of that was the triple TR there. Shouldn’t this be more amid ship rather than on top of the hanger on a IIA? See pics below
