Old becomes New again

What if someone built old world war 2 fighter and other planes today but istead use some of the more modern building techniques and technologies?
I have been asking myself this today. wouldn’t it be cool to be able to fly a spitfire, P-51 mustang, mosquito, P-38 lightning or a B-17 Flying Fortess that was built from composite materials, titanium and other materials that weren’t available in the 40’s. Of course their airframe and engine designs would be exactly the same, but with the use of different materials in their construction. I would wonder if their performance would be better or just the same and would their useful life time increase with the new materials or not.
I know it would never happen since their isn’t a market for plane like this, but wouldn’t this be a great way to make the past come back to life.
