Just a couple of images from a bimble across to OB yesterday.
In the front cockpit of the Stearman is my good friend ‘African Eagle’
The watery bit is the Norfolk Broads.
A great day for flying, but so few aircraft around. Astonishing

Think so.
We routed direct from there to OB which took us to the south of Norwich City and almost overhead the Talconeston Mast.
I seem to recall the heading being something like 260.

That would be about right I think. Haven’t got any charts to hand, but using a road atlas would tend to indicate a heading some between 220 and 260-ish. I’ll wave the next time a see a Colt pottering through the skies!

We were turning overhead a windfarm close to the coast just to the south of some artificial reefs and a gas-venting station.
(Don’t have the chart with me)

Sounds like the windfarm near Winterton, about 8 nm North of Yarmouth, in which case it might well be Hickling Broad in the picture. Sound about right? If so, you were less than 5 minutes flying time from Chez AF!!

When JDK and his dad came down to Popham yesterday they commented on how it was fine in Oxford and then worse in patches. Popham is on a hill (do you get those in Norfolk?) and so was clagged all day. On the other hand Basingstoke, just a few miles down the road, was clear all day. That is a Divine joke, being able to look at Basingstoke when the surrounding area is in fog just to remind you how awful it is!
Even the microlights were on the ground yesterday and usually nothing much stops those nutters flying.
Glad you had a good time
For which I hate you,
Love,
Melv
