Offer of repairing pictures
Hi Laharve,
I have recently done a major job for a work colleague by removing scratches and tears from 100 plus World War Two era photographs. My mates father flew with the RAAF in the Pacific, and a load of photos had been lying around in an old box for years. After alot of care and attention, I managed to repair these to an extent where my mates father thought they had been taken yesterday.
if you want, I would be more than happy to take a look at these for you and see if I can remove the scatches and dust from them. As well as a standard flatbed scanner, I also have a negative scanner for 35mm negatives.
Anyway, the offers there if you want it. Let me know if you want any further info.
Best Regards,
flyingkiwi

The last aircraft is BEAGLE Airedale
Yes, actually G-ASBY. Interesting, as I went to the 1962 show on the Sunday and here is my photo of the same aircraft, which by then had the serial applied, so perhaps they got fed up with spotters asking them what it was!

I remember it well! Thanks for sharing them.

A large number of those listed by robbelc are still with us…
Both the Terrier and the Airedale survive. (as a spares source for ASAX and stored following CofA exp respectfully.) And of course the AOP.11 ASCC is still flying.
The Herald can be found at the City of Norwich Museum…

The Beagle Airedale present in the static in 1962 was G-ASBY c/n B.523. The prototype G-ARKE, c/n B.501, which first flew on April 16, 1961, attended the previous year’s SBAC Show where it flew a display. One remarkable feature of the Airedale is that it flew only four months and ten days after its design was commenced.

Dribble, Dribble. Wonderful, evocative photographs – I would assume the Airedale is the prototype. Thank you for sharing them. 1962 was a great year obviously, at least as far as Andy in Beds and I are concerned (if his profile is to be believed!)!! 😀

Absolutely. I second these thoughts.

Many thanks for some excellent photos.
The Bristol T.188 was XF923, by the way.
A couple of laborious hours with Photoshop could get rid of the worst of the dust spots – but I’m afraid I’m not volunteering! It even looks as if someone trod on the massed JPs photo with a plimsoll (what you call trainers nowadays).
