😀 Hi gang!
….had been looking for some old ordnance survey maps, or a company that specialise in them, and came across the ‘landmark information group’ here in the UK. The company (which i do not in any shape or form work for) own/run a site called http://www.old-maps.co.uk.
My interest is the old UK based royal flying corps/RNAS stations. I was particularly interested in the former (and still existant) RFC stow maries in essex, and found a 1924 dated ordnance survey map of the area on their site. Map (A3 size) was duly ordered for the price of £19.99 (inc p and p) yesterday afternoon, and has just arrived! The quality is good, it’s printed on a parchment type paper (easy to run through the photocopier in work – he he), and most importantly it shows all the buildings that were there in 1924, though the station did close down in late 1918/early 1919!
So if you need a map of RFC, RNAS, or early RAF stations in the UK, then i recommend this site!
