Wrong year?
Savoia Marchetti S56-B, NC194M, 15th May 1987
I saw this wonderful aeroplane fly at Duxford on 14th May 1988 during its tour of Europe. I think it had arrived either the same day or the day before, and was due to depart very shortly after I saw it. (I will be adding my pictures of it to the Air-Britain Photographic Images web site shortly – I haven’t worked out how to submit images here yet!)
So I think you probably photographed it in 1988, not 1987?

Thought this thread was about due to return, so here’s another.
My favourite P-40s shot (of my own pics – there’s lots better out there, let’s see some!)

No, it’s not DX – North Weald in fact, but this magnificent line up were all based there then…

Haven’t seen this one for a while. Fiat – anoying little italian car which melts in Britain, or powerful fighter trainer? I’ll take no 2 please.

So… I’ve brough Moose back. What ya going to give me? Moose in front of the lineup at Classic Fighter 86. One of the best shows I can remember.

And a much earlier DX from the old press enclosure on the far side.

No worry 😎 – anyway, keep’em coming!

I was going to do a big feature on Legends in 96. Thanks to the guys at DX, I had great access – but the article never happened due to a complete loss of interest by me after the loss of ‘Hoof’ and the P-38. So, never before published, from the tower: (I’ll find and post some more from that weekend.)

Thanks Andy in Beds – think you are right.
MK959 – again, you may be right – I find that I can’t tell my pics of one Leg Ends from another!
Still back in the good old days, there was a really, really great show called ‘Classic Fighters’ Fewer numbers, but photobus, aircraft parked close to the crowd, and the flying was top class. I think this was 86.

Jeep 3 above
The passenger in jeep no three is a VC winner.
Trouble is his name escapes at present.
He was a Lancaster pilot who pressed on despite being wounded and I believe his Nav was killed.
He tells his story in The World at WAR the one about bombers.
Sadly I believe he’s since gone to a better place.
Please give me his name someone.
All the best
Andy
