Old Sarum possibly a site for new houses

Friend of mine went to a well attended pre-planning meeting at OS this afternoon. He told me that there are plans for approximately 500 dwellings on three sides of the airfield. The existing runway is to be moved 50 feet or maybe it was yards, further to the South.

Either way, it looks like the beginning of the end. 500 dwellings can equal about 2,000 complaining residents, hostile to aircraft movements.
