Old Warden evening air show 19-05-2007

Nice bright sunny evening apart from the last 20 minutes. Thankfully the breeze died down but not enough for the Edwardian aircraft to fly.

I arived abour 2pm a lot earlier than usual but expecting the car parks to fill up closer to the time of flying in spite of the soccer at Wembley. Instead people arrived in dribs and drabs and I have never been to an airshow where so few people attended. There was probably not much more than 200 people. The main grass car park in front of the hangers remained empty and only one car park was full. Did anybody else in this forum go to the air show?

We were treated to a flypast of the Red Arrows just after 3pm en route back from Wembley. The commentator said he would warn us when they were about to arrive but the Reds came a little early and the commentator was caught by surprise.

It is alledged that one of the pilots actually managed to catch balloon mid air instad of popping it and was waving it as he taxied back to his postion.

As usual the display was very entertaining. My pics can be see on the following link
