I had planned to go to an air show in France at Compiegne entitled ‘The Battle of France’ but the star of the show, a genuine battle of France Me109e based at Biggin Hill still had engine issues and was not going to appear.
Saturday or Sunday would have would have been okay for me for that show but I had not banked either for a lovely summer Saturday evening at Old Warden so I may have been short on sleep for an earlyish Sunday start across to France anyway.
It was the latest evening finish to any airshow, I have ever been to with the last aircraft display touching down approximately 9.50pm.
I was in no hurry to go home and quite content to breath in the summer night and having a last cup of tea from my flask before leaving at about 11pm
And it was so nice to see three Hawker Hurricanes flying in formation all based at the same airfield with a fourth appearing from the Battle of Britain Memorial Fligh.

Agghhhhh! I went to the Evening show at the start of the month which was badly affected by the weather, I couldn’t get to this one.
