After the cloud and cold at the Duxford air show, it was nice to sit and watch aeroplanes in blue sky and sunshine. First time I’ve seen the Comet flying and it sounded like a Dragon Rapide on take off.

Stunning photos! Saw the Comet on its air test last Summer – a wonderful sight and sound. The Fauvel looks terrifying!

Would I be right in thinking that, as a ducted fan, the Optica has it’s own distinctive noise? I caught a brief glimpse of something near Oxford that looked like an Optica, but too far away to be sure, but it sounded most unusual!
