My first time at Old Warden for over 30 years! Superb weather drew me towards Bedfordshire, but as luck would have it the clouds arrived at the same time as the flying display started.

Good to meet Nick (Man on the Fence,) today, who imparted some local knowledge. A good sized crowd were treated to a wonderful display of flying in a unique atmosphere. The Spitfire was shot on ISO 1000! If it had been a cricket match, the umpires would have left us disappointed. The Boxkite diplayed long after lighting-up time – all credit to the pilot.

Nice pics Mike.
Way better than I got, my D60 struggles against noise from iso 400 onwards. I gave up eventually.
JJ was so shiny coz I spent ages polishing it b4 it left home!

Nice shots! Especially like the Mustang arrival. Nice and shiny 🙂
The Spitfire was shot on ISO 1000!
I stubbornly stuck to ISO 200 which made me end up with 1/20th of a second shutterspeed. Very nasty, but not entirely without success though…

I hope you’ll leave it less than 20 years before you come back. 😉
It’ll depend on the weather! 🙂
