A quick lunchtime visit to Old Warden today found the Avro 504K G-ADEV / E3273 fully rigged in the workshop hangar. With a wing mounted Lewis gun fitted, she is only awaiting the completion of her engine:
The Spitfire port wing has progressed since my last visit, with more skinning completed and the addition of fairings, gun, flaps and cannon stubs:
The Comet is still at the inspection stage:
Other residents are just waiting for some Spring sunshine:
With many thanks to the ever helpful and courteous staff at Old Warden.

Last I heard there are plans to fly the Comet in the coming year, hence the inspection and tinkering etc.
That 504 certainly was quick work, I guess as the Collection’s rotary trainer she comes pretty high on the priority list.
Thanks for the update David.

The re-assembly of the 504 was quick work!
I hadn’t realised the Comet was in for tinkering again, is this just routine?
