A very nice Sunday spent in Bedfordshire with plenty of flying to click away at although I didn’t stay for the Edwardian’s and Comet. Ordered in January, my Tamron 150-600mm (Sony Fit) arrived Saturday so Sunday was a bit of a learning curve in basically handling the lens, it’s longer and heavier than the Sony 70-400mm G SSM, rather than trying to get the best out of it which I can experiment with any time at Duxford. In the order they were taken.

Have to agree with you there. I just hope one day I’ll be able to produce shots like those.

Blown away by your photos, the light is wonderful on those aircraft. There’s nowhere that compares with Old Warden. Thanks for posting.

Looking at the quality of those shots I don’t think you need to experiment. absolutely cracking pictures. I’ve always loved the interwar RAF colour schemes.

At Old Warden the aircraft aren’t far enough away to get to use 600mm but the glider and Be2c’s are at 600mm. The exif info (right click cursor on photo and click ‘view exif info’) is all there.
The Gladiator pilot was seeing which way the other Gladiator was going :D.

Great photos – the sort I always aspire to take but never quite manage it.
Love the DH51 and Cirrus Moth but shouldn’t the Gladiator pilot be looking where he is going!

Hello Brian,
Great photos as always.
Did you get to try the lens at the full 600mm?
I have owned a couple of Tamron zooms (Canon fit) in the past and they always seemed to lose their sharpness significantly at the top end…mine are museum pieces by comparison though.

Well worth the wait, Brian – super pictures, I particularly like the Hawkers shots!
