Oldest and most original spitfire?

I don’t even think “thin but robust” covers that! :p

As someone asked in any form, the oldest surving Spitfire part must be from K5054:

The problem is is that there are two questions here.
The oldest?
And the most original?

To us uninformed casual Spitfire admirers there isn’t really much difference, but to the officiado its a different matter!

That’ll be K9942. Re-built to its factory-fresh condition a few years ago by MAPS.

what about the one at cosford? though ill be honest though i know its real, i dont think it looks real imho

P7350 is the oldest flying Spitfire, certainly. But, as Mk.12 says, it’s the Chicago Mk.Ia.

Most others have been restored at some point (especially in the case of K9942).

Evening fellow forum buddies, sorry about the silly question but, where is the oldest and most original Spitfire. Is it R6915 at IWM London?

It’s the one that was featured in Flypast a few weeks ago as the oldest FLYING Spitfire…………….wasn’t it?

What about the one at the Science Museum in London??
