Found these while clearing out..Ju at Dyce Sept 84 Praktica camera..Beverly Turnhouse 66 old 127 compct.

I don’t know if there is any truth in it but somewhere in my travels I heard a rumour they were sometimes referred to as a flying chicken coop. I would guess that if true it was by the Allies rather than the German forces, as I understand it they haad a lot of faith in them much as the Allies had with the C-47.

I think Auntie Ju or Tante Ju in German was the nickname given to the type by any branch of the German forces that came into contact with the type.

Tried looking at the film itself on line and among the offerings is a site for a JU-52 named Auntie Ju which is claimed to have been in the film.Type in Auntie JU and a restoration web site comes up with more info.Apparently it was CASA built..

didnt that JU52 play a part at the begining of the movie “where eagles dare”??.
it flew into Tilstock near whitchurch shropshire not long before or after filming i believe. it landed with an engine off and was there for at least a week.

It wasnt a bad day ,a bit wet if I remember but the unexpected Concorde touch and go was a bonus.I`ve got a shot of G-FIRE but taken using a standard lens by the time you blow it up you are left with dots.

Remember the Ju at Dyce. Had a mock dogfight with G-FIRE which had strobes in the cannon barrels to simulate gun bursts.
There was only ever going to be one winner !!!
