I don’t care if others want to watch sweaty people on television, but I won’t be joining them.
I neither hate it, nor love it.
I have on ‘off’ switch, a perfectly good radio and a computer
The airspace restrictions only affect me in as much that if I wanted to nip to France I have to head a little bit further out into the Thames Estuary than usual
It’ll soon all be over and we’ll get chavball back. Oh good [/irony]

YES, ALL those stupid soaps which are supposed to reflect life as a whole, I am never ceased to be amazed when anyone in them goes into a shop, and majicaly produces the exact amount of money for what they are buying, never yet seen any change given back to them.

Or drink a whole cup of coffe/tea by just briefly dabbing the rim of the cup against their lips. Or agree to buy a business without even asking the price, let alone take a look at the books.

I would love to ignore the olympics from 5000 feet but the weather is too poor. 🙁
Fairly certain you’d have a Typhoon, for company, if you did.

Because no one would watch it on the radio?
Well thats the first reason to ban Television
any more from anyone else?

I think the question should be why do they televise it at all?
Because no one would watch it on the radio?
By: paul178 - 5th August 2012 at 22:47
Do they televise that in colour now??:D
So I believe(but don’t quote me on that the last time I saw it was 1969 or 70)

I don’t mind watching the Song Contest shambles itself, it’s Graham Norton that makes my skin crawl.
Three minutes of his inane giggling and it’s the off switch or a brick through the screen. So much better in Wogan’s day (and it was pretty dreadful then)

Well my wife and I swore we would avoid it at all costs but it seems we have been converted the TV is on morning to night now watching it.

Ignore it I might, but I must confess to being impressed by the performance of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Team.
Some Olympics have been as embarrassing for us as the average Eurovision song contest.
But 14 golds to date speaks of extraordinary efforts and commitments for ‘our’ athletes.

I’m as “bah humbug” about thing as many on here, but there are some far better role models to see than we usually do…… no pop idol – jesus christ superstar – 20 mins of fame – silicon enhanced wanna be – has beens, all hard working and super fit…… maybe I am being drawn in… 😮

Debatable. But since I still continue to avoid seeing or hearing any of the actual contests I feel it is permissible here 😀

Mr Moggy;
Surely your last post is off topic for this thread and should be moved to the “Olympic Supporters Thread” immediately? :diablo:

What I find interesting is that it isn’t very invasive. With all the channels on the box it’s not `in yer face` like in the old three channel days. As I live in Hampshire after moving from London 6 years ago it’s also neither a hiderance nor and advantage. In fact, it’s passing me by quite naturally. It seems to have had the same effect on most of the spectators. All those empty seats.
What with all the fighters, missile sites and army it’s 10 Billion well spent I say.
