OMEGA Navigation System Help

Hi everyone,

I know people around here have a lot of links so I am putting out an appeal to anyone who knows where the Victor Team at Elvington can get hold of the OMEGA navigation system that was fitted to the aircraft. It was a Litton211 and has been missing since the RAF retired her and nicked it. It is the ONLY piece of equipment that is missing now and we would dearly like to find it so that we can have the old girl exactly how she was when she was in service and when we find the OMEGA she will be, which would be excellent!

The stores refs are:

45730004-180112 Omega RPU

6605011809189 Omega Pallet Assy

110D2660753 Omega

Hope you can Help!

Ollie

it maybe a long shot but..

Why not give them a call or email? explain what you are trying to do and take it from there.. stranger things have happened in the past where items have been donated or loaned to other groups…..

Hi Chris

Unfortunatly we do want a working unit in order to stick with our philosophy of everything working as it should, we don’t like having things on the jet not working!

Will keep on the lookout and will keep that site in mind if there is nowhere else!

Thanks for your help

I take it that for your purposes it does not have to work. Perhaps ask of the folks who repair these types of units for one that has been “fried” internally but still looks good. Might be worth a shot.
I’m sure a working unit will not come cheep from whatever source.

Thanks for the info, a bit expensive however!

I think this is the problem, the price. It is overpriced everywhere the last place we tried had all the kit, but wanted £10000 for it. We cant afford £100 let alone £10000! Its an awful lot of money for equipment that is not used anymore and has been shut down!
