If you look at the nose gear on the fake picture you can see where the editor has deleted the stand for it to rest on

I saw that straight away, and the 744 would never be on that back angle with so little distance to go. Would of established on he ILS miles ago!

if that parked outside the bar bit that would have taken up at least 2 Easyjet bays and is the taxi-way wide enough for it

The Boeing 747 would never be parked up by the terminal as there is only the one designated stand (Stand 14) which can take its full dimensions without closing a taxiway. Typically on a weekend you will find three Emerald HS748s on the stand.

As for visiting aircraft, last night saw AN26 YL-RAB visit on a car parts charter (vauxhall i think) from Germany. Nothing much else of interest has been in in the last couple of weeks 🙁

That photo is as false as my mother in law’s smile

Nice Steve! 😀 I’m assuming that ‘funnel’ on the leading edge is a light of some sort?

Also, if you look closely at the shadows on the “Large Size” version, you’ll see that the sun appears to be shining on the aircraft from a different direction than it is shining on the airfield.

Naah – it’s a cut and paste job. :p

Most 747s don’t have a funnel on the leading edge of the wing, either… 😀

It’s the Lufthansa 747-230 on display at Speyer in Germany. Very nice fake though!

Sorry but I think that is photoshopped. The descent path would have led it over my school and didn’t see a thing. I have also seen that photo without an LH 744.
