On a windy, blowy day this is worth a watch

cracked it, re my post number 3, I’ve just spent a very enjoyable 1hr 36 mins watching Appointment in London, (not a hint of CGI!). Therein was the answer to my question the controller was Ronald Adam, who rejoined the RAF and became a controller at Hornchurch sector during the Battle of Britain as a Wing Commander. He joined the army in 1914 then transferred to the RFC, serving with 18, 44 and finally with 73Sq, where he was shot down on 7th April 1918, the general debate amongst historians was of him being the 78th victim of von Richthofen…

Nice shots of Neil Williams zooming around the hill behind Henley on Thames, but MH 434 looks a bit ponderous and nose high trying to formate on the filming helicopter. It is striking to see how much better is today’s on board camera footage, even from little consumer Go-Pro type cameras and their ilk.

The Spit bounding across Booker reminds me of another sequence in the Triumph Spitfire car commercial. An interesting effort, clearly produced to appeal to tyre-kickin’, wheel spinnin’, sexist, fantasist bell-ends everywhere ! Different times I guess.

yes very enjoyable, especially the ground crew training film, a question if anyone has noticed the controller in the control room scene at 25.46, did he become a actor post war?.
