RE: On Telly Tonight!
Finally got round to watching this – I’d taped it – and it was a miracle that they survived as they did.
Quite a poignant moment when it was revealed that one of the recovery team was in fact the baby on the flight. The photos taken after the crash were interesting to see and seems like the pilot should have got some sort of commendation for his crash landing, rather than getting the sack 2 years later.
As was stated, there were probably pilots a plenty to replace him!

I do wish they’d put some dihedral on the wings of their CGI aircraft though! Same problem with the Andes Lancastrian story last year.
A very interesting story though.

RE: On Telly Tonight!
Great programme, especially touching to see the widow of the only casualty visiting the grave of her husband (in what looked like Hollywood’s version of an oasis) for the second and last time, and the crash site for the first time.
Interesting that there were more pilots on the aircraft than you could shake a stick at. Even one of the stewards was ex-bomber aircrew. A comment on the job situation after all those flyers were demobbed.
Nav was a total #####-up. Only the steward noticing that the sun was rising in the wrong place made them aware of the error.
Pity the well-meaning, but somewhat shambolic recovery team turned up just two years after an arab scrappie had carted the bulk of the fuselage away. 🙁
