Channel 5,9pm “World War One in Colour”:Tonight’s instalment focuses on the development of aerial warfare in the Great War. In case you’re thinking ‘there won’t be much colour footage from them days’,they use original black and white film and colour it in using digital technology.Should be interesting.

Yep,I agree they showed a good diversity of types and various bits of rarely seen footage (I thought that footage of Guynemeyer was pretty amazing),but I just wish they could’ve shown the clips in the right places,eg,showing pics of SE5’s when talking about the Fokker Scourge ,etc. Ah well,can’t have your cake and eat it…
I heard about that 0/400 beeing registered n’all.Think it got as far as a cockpit section in someone’s garage and then they ran out of space.Don’t know what happenned after that,or where the cockpit might have got to.Would turn a few heads at CockpitFest!

This was one of the best programes I have ever seen. Normally they just concentrate on the aces,Camels,Fokkers, Se5’s etc. But they has footage of Gothas,Handley Hage 0/500’s, Short 184’s and Felixstowe flying boats,truely amazing. Oh to see one of those Handley Pages today. Somebody did register a V/1500 replica in the G-BKxx series but it was cancelled after 10 years, don’t think they got very far.
