On the telly 15th January-TONIGHT.

Sorry about the incredably short notice on this one-
Battleground-Spitfire,8pm,Ch4:An hour long documentary about the famous WW2 fighter, with recent and archive footage and interviews with pilot’s such as Bob Doe.
Also at 9pm immediately after ‘Spitfire’,there is a documentary about Commando operations in WW2,which could be interesting.
Sincere apologies fort he short notice, but I only just saw the listings.

RE: So what did we think?

I have to agree with you Moggy about Battle Stations…it didn’t really have anything new to offer…but some nice shots of the Shuttleworth Spitfire though 🙂

RE: On the telly 15th January-TONIGHT.

Spitfire Squadron – seen it before on the History Channel!!!
I was a bit disappointed that it was not a “new” programme but a repeat. Never mind, I’m sure the non-Sky viewers enjoyed it. (Typical, I get Sky to watch stuff like that – something lacking on terrestrial TV and what happens????)

Commando was worth watching – if only for the poignant moment at the end where the little silver box was returned. Have to make a note to watch the rest of the series.

So what did we think?

I felt that it was a bit pedestrian. Certainly I have seen better and more carefully considered programmes on the Spitfire and its role in WW2.

On the other hand it was a zillion times better than a forty-seventh episode this week of East Enders or an outbreak of Chris Tarrant.

Seven marks out of ten?

Why is it that you always remember something you meant to mention when you hit the ‘Post Message’ icon!
I was going to say that all is not lost because it is a joint production with the History Channel and I think Discovery aswell,so there should be an oppertunity to see it again in the near future.
