Given that the air onboard airliners is simply re-cycled, theoretically someone with a virus could pass the virus onto every other person on the aircraft over a given period on a flight.
Does this sound correct?
What are your views on the air quality onboard airliners? Temperature regulation as well (not so much with the newer aircraft) but has anybody ever been particularly uncomfortable due to temperature as well?
Regards

RE: Onboard Air Quality?
The older aircraft are definitely better than the newer ones!!

RE: Onboard Air Quality?
All I can say is that when I get off a long flight these days, I feel much worse than I was when I got on the aircraft!
Some of that is due to lack of sleep, some of it is due to horrible seats. But a good portion is also due to poor air quality.
Are some aircraft worse than others? I remember the BAE 146 had a terrible reputation, for being nearly lethal in this respect. What are your opinions?

RE: Onboard Air Quality?
The air quality on an airliner is nowhere near as good as it used to be!! All the air in the aircraft was changed over a short period of time (can’t remember the figures!). But nowadays, only 50% of the air is changed. It takes up less energy to do this… which means less fuel has to be burned… which means the aircraft becomes more efficient… = more cash for the airlines!!
