I don’t think the CAA ever told OFMC that the Lavochkin couldn’t stay in the U.K -that is not their purpose. They can ask that it conforms to certain regulations regarding the standard of build before issuing certifcation.

What is the possibility of seeing a Mosquito over here very soon?.

I personally don’t believe so, people just wana waste their money on a Spitfire :diablo:

Then there’s the Company Against Aviation that will no doubt screw it up. I can’t see them letting even the 1 planned in New Zealand to operate from here, OFMC couldn’t keep the Lavochkin here 🙁

If you could get a Mosquito, Anson and / or Comet in the air that would be a real show stopper!
Anyone remember Mosquito, B17 and Blenheim in the air at Biggin Hill one year? Saw the picture in a magazine with the caption “will we ever see this formation again?”. Possibly in the next few years.

I went to a show (families day?) at Hatfield in the 80’s as part of the support crew for Dove G-ARDE and present amongst other DH types were a Dragon, Rapide, 88 Comet, Mosquito and ARDE. I remember thinking at the time that the only DH twin missing was a 125 (I was thinking flyers and had dismissed the Vixen) and what an opertunity for a unique formation had also passed.
Anyone photograph the event as I didn’t?

Lovely Aircraft the two DH’s

Lovely they are, and its “Music” to my ears.

There are spoil sports about regarding original, restored, or newly built aircraft.
Most of the WW1 aircraft we see flying are new built and if luckly with a correct engine.
I’am thinking of the three Dr1’s we saw at Flying Legends, or the beautiful Bleriot.

I’am still waiting for a new built Me262 to be flown in the UK airshow scene.

Lets enjoy them while we have them.

re;

and wait for some idiot to spoil it telling you “they are not all real you know” just like somebody did with the FW190. As if all that effort into getting one here didn’t matter…

Possibly.

I reckon we’ll see a trio of Comets before we see that duo :diablo:

However, the idea of 6 x Six-cylinder DH donks in synch’ would be enough to put goose-bumps on my goose-bumps…
Let’s hear it for all the wooden-wonders…. (:-P)
