Cheers mate,
The guy who was selling his library I know well – but he didn’t actually send me the list.

If you liked that one, how about an inverted Tempest?

Tiffies aren’t usually my thing, but a nice shot nonetheless! 🙂

LMAO!
Not even a bookplate. Jim has a digital photocopier, with which he wrote the names out and sent it around to get signed up. Then got the Pritt stick out. They are the £15 copies he was flogging at Legends.
Now, the copy signed on a proper bookplate, limited to 90-odd with a slipcase, that’s worth some money. I have that. Also the launch signed one, with a bunch of sigs, that’s worth money. This? About £15 I reckon…

Hadn’t noticed that it is signed by 16 former members of 609.
Would that add significantly to the value, do you think?
20 minutes to go…

Jim was flogging them for £15 at the weekend.
I have 3 normal signed copies and a special edition signed copy. Thanks anyway!
Yep, 18 months of pure joy! Check acknowledgements for Mark Crame!

Can’t believe anyone would want to sell it. Mine’s also numbered and signed, and I even managed to add Jimmy Stewart’s signature to the Jimmy Stewart story page on Sunday. Thought about getting the photographer to sign it too, but he was out of crayons and a bit too busy with a goat at the time too…. 😉

Hadn’t realised it was that book!
Hand signed and numbered…and no bids as yet.

One for Snapper – or maybe not in this instance !!
I wasn’t aware that this was the book that Snapper did the photo’s for 🙂 – so I hope he has got a copy.
I quite agree with Robbo’s piece “I don’t know if the seller has any connection with Jim or 609, but I’d rather such a “premium” went to the author or towards paying for the 609’ers’ visit to Flying Legends than to a speculator.” – will have to see how much it goes for tonight. 🙂

It’s a great book and it’s worth getting hold of a copy, although I only paid £25 for mine. I don’t know if the seller has any connection with Jim or 609, but I’d rather such a “premium” went to the author or towards paying for the 609’ers’ visit to Flying Legends than to a speculator.

Hear hear!

I’d imagine that Snapper already has it – Jim Earnshaw was with him on the 609Sqn stall/display at Legends…;)

Going to have to find a way to get back to the UK for ‘Legends’ for the following reasons…
1. It sounds good…okay very good
2. I’ve never been
3. I quite fancy a copy of that book (having seen some of the stuff our young snapper has scanned in, it looks a bladdy good read)
4. I want a copy for my library of that book…signed by all of course!
5. Havent seen a piston Warbird for over three years now…just hope I can recognise one when I see it
6. Want to confirm for meself thatb the video’s arent as good as the real thing

Hohoho. At LAST its out in the open.
I’m mentioned in the foreword. I have been involved in this project since Christmas Eve 2001 – scanning and restoring all of the pictures in the book.
We will be there for the whole weekend, and I will have a blazer on, of all things. Expect around a dozen ex-pilots, plus a couple of ‘side events’.
