One for the whirlybird fans

I thought some of you guys might be interested in this pic, taken by my gran when it made a food drop in Peebles in the Scottish Borders in January 1963, the town having been cut-off by snow.

The S-55/Whirlwind/H-19 is one of my favorites…one of my earliest memories is seeing a USAF rescue ship flown by a friend of my father.
In the 80’s I met a the manager of the Aero Club at a US base who had and flew an ex-RAF turbine Whilrwind. I didn’t get the number…does it still fly?

XP404 is stored with the Helicopter Museum at Weston-Super-Mare.
Not sure what ‘clothes’ it is now in though, or how complete it remains.
