If you could make One law what would it be and why ?
I would like to make a law that said
“Anyone who has no job and claims benefits while able to work should do 10-20 hours community work a week to keep their cash”
This would benefit the local community and allow people to gain new skills and also get the small minority of skivers to get out and do something.

Don’t know where I found these – and I don’t believe all of them anyway – but here are some examples of silly laws found on the net:-
In Switzerland, it is illegal to mow your front lawn while you’re dressed as Elvis.
On Christmas Eve in Belgium, it is legal for children to throw bananas at police cars.
On Christmas Day in Belgium, it is legal for police officers to throw bananas at children.
In Afghanistan it was illegal to play anything composed by Chopin on a banjo.
Restaurants serving ice cream on a piece of cherry pie in Kansas are breaking the law.
Convicted graffiti artists on the Isle of Man are forced to have replicas of their graffiti tattooed on their chests.
In many Southern states, 4-sided cheese graters are considered works of Satan, and are outlawed in Virginia, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
It once was law to say “God bless you” to people who sneezed.

I forgot my one law: Any politician who tries to give away our sovereignty without consent of the maonarch is automatically guilty of treason (which still carries the death penalty). Oh sorry I also forgot that a law that says much the same thing already exists and has since the 13th century

As regards assembling on the village green to practice archery there would be a lot of broken windows it in the houses nearby in fact it would be impossible to hold a gathering like that on our village green without ending up in people’s houses as it was built on years ago

To be precise, every male aged between 10 and 18 must meet on a Sunday morning at the village green in order to practice archery. All English men over 14 should carry out two hours (or so) of longbow practice a week, supervised by the local clergy.

It’s illegal for Englishmen not to practice archery on a Sunday. I reckon there is the option available to nick any ******* that you are trying to pin something on with no success now.

Here in Jersey we have an un-rescinded law allowing us to shoot any Frenchmen found on the beach early in the morning it dates back to the 18 and 19 centuries when France still laid claim to the Channel Islands.
I think this law should now be expanded “to any illegal immigrant devoid of a proven valid reason will be immediately shot on arrival at the point of entry”

We have similar issues .
The French law allows French citizenship in two situations.
The right of the blood : basically when your parents are FrencH
The right of the soil : when you’re born on the French territory.

well, I’m not that extreme SOC…any non-tax paying non-working non-citizens of legal working age attempting to rob the public funds should be deported.
Babies conceived outside of this country but borned here by both non-citizen parents should not be granted citizenship unless under asylum protection or proof of under persecution (automatic rejection from any top economy countries). However, as soon as the parents became citizen, any child born here is automatically citizen. However, tax paying working non-citizens should receive full benefits for their child that’s born here.
I agree…”minority rights group” is the biggest racist thing around…to other “minorities” Black or Latinos are the majority in their neighborhood yet all we hear is Black or Latino rights. Shouldn’t it be the other way around, the more minority you are statistically the more voice you should be given for such equality…but what does the NAACP mean when they always use the word “colored”…isn’t white a color also, how about other than black? Often the context is colored=black unless they need other groups to help then they conveniently label colored=all except white. Please, the fact of using “colored” is very racist.

Well, I’d probably go for a new type of tax law that has a flat tax on income for everyone. I would of course recover all the lost tax money paid to the government by closing all of the loopholes that allow rich people to pay very little tax or avoid paying tax altogether (ie by running a company at a loss etc etc).
I would also add a law that states that you have the right to defend yourself and your property, and that anyone committing a crime is responsible legally and economically for anything that happens to them or others if they are committing a crime.
(I have heard of burglars injuring themselves while breaking into places and getting government assistance for it.)

Here’s a few ideas…
You must be a citizen to recieve social benefits, medical care, and lciensing. Any non-citizen will be denied these services and detained for deportation when attempting to recieve them.
Mental capacity is not a defense for committing a crime, it is a mitigating factor when serving a sentence.
Minority rights groups are discriminatory and will be given no heed by any government, institution, or organization (i.e. if you aren’t for equal rights, stop bothering people).

An orange badge does NOT give you carte blanche to park on double yellow lines. They are there for safety reasons. You WILL be fined.
(However, I feel that specific disabled bays, in sufficient quantity, should be provided in areas that merit them, and in prime locations).
