If you were able to import one foreign aircraft into the UK, what would it be?
For my, I’d like to see a B47 @ Cosford.

One exhibit I really think is missing from RAF post-war collections, is a proper PV5 Neptune MR.1, as used by Coastal Command, and I would really like to see one here.
Isn’t there one of these (ex-RAF in original config) in the States? There was a few years back.
If it’s an aircraft in ‘Foreign’ hands, I’d go for the XV-6A at the Smithsonian.
For a ‘Foreign’ aircraft, a Brewster Buffalo

How about a complete carvair ?
Would be my choice too. Hurry, there are only two left.

Are BP Balliols and Bristol freighters foreign?!

Whats all the fuss about F-14 Tomcats, what was their relevance over here, to recall, 92 Mildenhall, 93 Fairford and a host at Normandy 94, apart from that…..
How about a good old Soviet Bison, I bet they flew up the east coast a few times, could be interesting trying to land one at DX, how about a swappsie for 558, we’ve plenty of Vulcans after all.
I’ll get me coat……

A Boulton Paul Balliol from Sri Lanka bound for the Shuttleworth Collection.
Martin
I’d have swapped the Sea Balliol at Cosford for a true Balliol then lobbed the SB at the RNHF….
I’ve seen the Sri Lankan aircraft and they are in super nick…

As it’s fiction I will go with the B36. Seen it, touched it, would love to get in it.

How about an A7 of F8??? We are Americas’ Aircraft Carrier!!after all!! Seriously a few American exotics would be nice-and whoever said “No” to a Tomcat in the UK needs a good talking to!!!!
I keep hearing rumours that Duxford declined, the RN Fleet Airm Museum said it wasn’t relevent, Cosford would have been a good home for it.
Surely it could have been possible for the FAA to get a few ‘swapsies’ for the Sea Harrier when they were (prematurely) retired?
Let’s see now…an F-14 Tomcat should be worth about one…you’d probably get two (conveniently just retired Aéronavale) F-8 Crusader for one Sea Harrier…
…and how many for a Yakovlev-38…two…three?

B-36 yeah, especially considering the amount of deployments they had over here. But they are thin on the ground and jolly large so not very realistic.
