Just had another thought. BAA have a noise complaints phone no. see

Maybe worth an ‘enquiry’ ? They can track anything.

Thanks for that, I’ll see what happens, if I dont ask i dont get LoL. Bex

ATR, its funny u should mention that, coz I could have sworn I saw it take off a couple hours later whilst working on my canberra over at GAM, but I was busy repairing the nose to note the time, but it was after 1130 that i do know. Bex

Hi Bex, Guessing a bit here. From your description this sounds like one of the non std go arounds I’ve seen over the years.
Basically a lander gets a bit close to a take off and does a left/right turn over Crawley rather than straight ahead.
Someone on a go around powering up to 3000 ft will be a bit noisy.
I’d suggest checking what landed in the 10 minutes after you saw it for a clue. Many books out there and the BAA lists will help. Alternatively someone from LGW Aviation Soc will likely help out.
Regards

I can only guess that it might have been the Romanian registered exec 1-11 that was discussed on here a few weeks ago.

Anyone else got any actual facts?

1L.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, much appreciated but it was bit bigger than that, say similar to DC9 / 727. Bex
