It’s also worth tracking down his first novel, Faith Is A Windsock.
It is a fictionalised account of his tour. He changes the names of the crew and gives them slightly different characters to enhance the drama.
He subsequently wrote the more accurate account as The Eighth Passenger.

It’s a good read for those of us interested in personal accounts of WW2 aerial combat.
Tripp was either an author anyway, or went on to become one, so his writing skills are better than many I have read.
