LAST EDITED ON 13-Mar-01 AT 06:44 PM (GMT)[p]During a live firing excercise in Kuwait, 5 US soldiers were killed and several others injured. My question: does such accidents happen frequently (not only in US …). How was this possible with a laser guided bomb? Doesn’t the pilot have to lock on the target and identify it before it releases its bomb? Ofcourse CNN always wants to dramatise facts, but is this the first time such accidents happen? Is this a pilot’s mistake?
And if proven that the pilot made a big mistake: will he be fired for this one?
