Esteemed ladies and gentlemen,
we wouldlike to take the opportunity to introduce the EARLY BIRDS (Stichting Vroege Vogels) to you. We are a group that try to preserve small historic aviation and are in the posession of a unique collection of historic planes and engines. A number of them in flying condition. Regularly we particpate in aviation events around Europe. The collection is based largely in our own hangar at Lelystad airport.
Up till now our collection is one of the best kept secrets at Lelystad airport. However, we have decided to draw a bit more attention to ourselves.
We would like to invite you to our “spottersdays”. During these days we will organise enthiousiasts orientated activities. You will for instance visit the flightline in front of our hanger, or get a tour alongside our historic planes. Truly unique is a almost completed Fokker D-VII that, we hope, will be very close to airworthiness during the event. The planes will be easily approached and photographed.
For this flight season the days are planned for june 25th and september 10th (both are sundays).
From 11:00 to 17:00 you will be welcome in our hangar. Because our foundation is dependant on donations we will request a entry fee of 3,50 euro per person. We would appreciate it if you could tell us if you can come, and with how many people you intend to come.
For participation or questions you can contact us via our website at http://www.vroegevogels.org
Next to that we will open our hangar on wednesday and saturdays to the public for an entry fee of 3,50 euro per person. Groups can come during other weekdays as well.
We are looking forward to welcoming you.
Best regards,
Mieke Haas

Next to this “press release” you may also be interested to come the 15th and the 16th of july for the second annual bi-plane fly-in.
The vroege vogels collection includes:
Of course the national aviation museum Aviodrome is also located at Lelystad so combining the two on a day trip might be an idea.
